Server administration and website maintenance from one person
Most website problems are not only “in the site” or only “on the server”. Slow loading can come from a plugin, the database or the hosting limits. That is why I offer server administration and website maintenance together: one person who sees the whole picture and does not pass the blame to someone else.
I have worked with Linux servers and websites for 6 years. I maintain sites built on WordPress, OpenCart and custom code, on shared hosting, a VPS or a dedicated server.
What website maintenance includes
- Updates: WordPress, OpenCart, themes and plugins, first on a staging copy, then on the live site
- Backups: daily, stored off the server, with tested restores
- Security: firewall, malware scanning, strong passwords and removal of old accounts
- Small changes: new copy, a photo, a page or a menu change
- Emails from your site: SPF, DKIM and DMARC so form emails do not end up in spam
- Domain and SSL: expiry checks so neither lapses unnoticed
Linux server administration
If you have a VPS or your own server, I also take care of the machine under the site:
- installing and configuring CyberPanel, OpenLiteSpeed, Apache or Nginx
- PHP versions, caching and limits matched to your traffic
- MariaDB and MySQL: memory tuning, slow queries, repairing damaged tables
- firewall, ImunifyAV and regular system updates
- alerts when the site stops responding or the disk fills up
When your site is slow or down
Errors such as 508 Resource Limit Is Reached, blank pages or a sudden slowdown usually have a specific cause: a plugin that overloads the database, a bot crawling the site or limits set too low. I find the cause instead of just adding resources.

Migration to a new host or server
Moving a site is a moment when emails, forms or Google rankings are easily lost. I do it in stages: a copy on the new server, a test on a temporary address, a DNS switch and a check of everything afterwards. If you are changing the design along with the hosting, see website redesign, where we also keep your URLs in Google.
