Website development that works for your business

Website development with me starts with questions, not a template. What do you sell? Who is your customer? What should a visitor do when they open the page: call, book an appointment, request a quote or find you on the map? The answers shape the structure, the copy and the features. The design comes after them.

My name is Georgi Tanchev, and for 6 years I have been building websites, online stores and SEO for businesses in Bulgaria and abroad. I work independently, so the person you speak to at the consultation is the same person who writes the code, sets up the server and trains you to update your content. There is no account manager between us, and nothing gets lost along the way.

What the project includes and what it does not

The foundation is the same for every project, whatever its size:

• Structure before design. We lay out the pages and the menu before a single button is drawn, so that every service gets its own page.
• Phone-first design. The call button, the address and the enquiry form are always a thumb’s reach away.
• Technical SEO foundation. Unique page titles and descriptions, clean URLs, a sitemap, structured data and a Google Search Console connection. This does not put you at the top automatically, but it removes the technical obstacles.
• Forms that actually reach you. The contact form is tested with real messages, not just in the browser.
• Training. I show you how to change text, photos and service descriptions without having to email me for every small edit.

Things that are not included automatically and are agreed separately if you need them:

• writing all of the copy from scratch, and professional photography;
• a logo and brand identity, if you do not have one yet;
• ongoing SEO work to climb in Google, which is a separate service: SEO optimization;
• paid advertising on Google and social media;
• domain and hosting, which are paid to the provider.

What determines the price of a website

I do not have fixed-price packages for website development, because two five-page sites can require very different amounts of work. The price is determined by a few concrete things:

1. Number of unique pages and templates. Ten services with the same layout are less work than five pages with completely different structures.
2. Bespoke design or an adapted base. A completely new design takes longer than a carefully adapted base, but it also sets you apart more clearly from competitors.
3. Features. Online booking, a quote calculator, several languages, a client area, connections to external systems such as SMS services or a CRM. Each of these is separate work and is listed in the quote.
4. Content. If the text and photos are ready, the project starts straight away. If they need to be written or edited, that adds time.
5. Moving from an old site. Transferring content and redirecting old URLs protects your Google rankings, but it is also work.

You receive a written quote with an exact price and timeline after a free consultation. It describes what the project includes, so you know what you are paying for before we start.

How the project runs

The consultation is a conversation by phone, video or in person if you are in Plovdiv. I ask about your business, your customers and what is not working in your current online presence.

Once the quote is approved, I send you a list of pages and the content I need for each one. This is the time to gather text, photos and your logo.

Design starts with the home page. Once you approve the direction, I build the remaining pages on a test address that you open on your phone and comment on.

At launch I connect the domain, HTTPS and redirects from old URLs, check the forms and register the site in Google Search Console. Finally, I hand over all the logins to you.

Most business websites are ready within 2-4 weeks. More complex ones take longer: the Legendary Z Cleaning site, with a quote calculator and an admin panel, took about 6 weeks. The most common delay is waiting for content, so it helps to prepare it early.

WordPress or a custom-built site: which is right for you

WordPress suits you if you want to add pages, articles, services or galleries yourself on a regular basis. The system is familiar, and it is easy to find another developer if you ever need to. The price of that flexibility is that the core and plugins need regular updates, otherwise the site becomes vulnerable.

A custom-built site (PHP, Astro or Next.js) suits you when the content changes rarely or you need specific logic you do not want to patch together with plugins. It has fewer moving parts, loads fast and is a harder target for attacks. The downside is that structural changes go through a developer.

Often the right answer is in the middle: WordPress with its own theme and features written specifically for you. I do not use themes bought from template marketplaces. I recommend based on how you will work with the site, not on what is more convenient for me.

Support after launch

The system, plugins and server need updates, backups and monitoring, and your business will have new services and photos. After launch you have three options:

• Maintain the site yourself. After the training you can change text and photos without outside help.
• Contact me when needed. For individual changes, a new page or a new feature.
• Ongoing maintenance. Updates, backups, security and server monitoring. For example, for Sofiterm in Plovdiv I maintain an OpenCart site: text corrections, SEO improvements and fixing technical issues.

I am based in Plovdiv, and with clients in the city we can meet in person. If you are in Sofia or another city, the whole process runs online with no agency markup: a call by phone or video, a shared document for the content and a test version you review in your browser.
