Calm, accessible block theme for dental practices, medical clinics and health centres, with patterns for treatments, team credentials, opening hours and appointments.

== Description ==

Clinova is a full site editing block theme for health practices. It was designed around a
simple observation: people visiting a clinic website are often anxious, and a page that is
quiet, legible and honest does more for them than one that shouts.

The default style pairs a deep burgundy with a muted gold on blush and white surfaces.
Cards are softly rounded, photographs sit in large rounded frames, and every text and
background pair in the theme has been checked against the WCAG AA contrast ratio.

It suits dentists and dental studios, GP surgeries, specialist and diagnostic clinics,
physiotherapy and chiropractic practices, dermatology and aesthetic clinics, opticians,
podiatry, veterinary surgeries, therapy rooms and wellness centres.

= What is included =

* Eight core templates plus a "Page — No Title" custom template for landing pages.
* Header and footer template parts, both editable in the Site Editor.
* Fifteen block patterns covering the sections a clinic site actually needs: a full-width
photographic hero and a lighter split hero, an icon-led treatments grid, an about
section built round a clinician photograph, meet-the-team cards with space for
credentials, patient testimonials, a practice photo gallery, opening hours paired with
insurance and payment notes, a price list, an FAQ built from details blocks, an
appointment call-to-action band and an icon-led contact section.
* Four looks in total — the default burgundy plus three style variations: Clinical Teal,
a cool clinical teal and gold; Ocean Slate, a blue and slate palette in Poppins; and
Sage Wellness, a forest green and clay set in Poppins throughout.
* Five custom block styles: soft card and tinted panel groups, a checklist, an eyebrow
kicker and a diamond rule separator.
* Forty-three Lucide icons inlined as SVG, used across the hero, treatment cards,
  testimonials and contact details.
* Montserrat, Open Sans and Poppins bundled locally, including latin-ext subsets. The
theme makes no remote requests of any kind.
* Plain placeholder images, so the layouts read correctly before you add your own
photography. They are our own work and GPL licensed. See == Copyright == below.

= Getting started =

1. Activate the theme, then open Appearance → Editor.
2. Try the style variations under Styles to pick a palette.
3. Edit the front page, or build your own from Patterns → Clinova — Sections.
4. Replace the placeholder text, prices and photographs with your own before publishing.

The placeholder copy describes services and facilities in neutral terms and deliberately
avoids promising clinical outcomes. Please keep it that way when you edit it — most
countries regulate what a health practice may claim in its advertising.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= How do I edit the home page? =

The home page layout lives in the site template, not in a page, which is how block
themes work. Go to Appearance > Editor > Templates > Front Page and edit any section
there — every heading, image, button and column is a normal block.

The Services, About and Contact pages are ordinary pages: edit them under Pages as
usual. The header and footer are under Appearance > Editor > Patterns > Template Parts,
and colours, fonts and spacing are under Appearance > Editor > Styles. To change the
whole look at once, open Styles and click Browse styles.

= How do I add an appointment or enquiry form? =

Clinova does not include form handling, because forms are plugin territory rather than
theme territory — that way your enquiries survive a change of theme. Install a form
plugin and place its block inside the panel provided in the Contact pattern. Since patient
enquiries can carry health information, choose a plugin that lets you control where
submissions are stored and for how long.

= How do I add a map? =

The Contact pattern includes a placeholder panel where a map belongs. Add a map block from
your preferred maps plugin, or replace the panel with a photograph of your entrance, which
many patients find more useful than a map pin.

= How do I add photographs of my team? =

The team pattern ships with an initials monogram rather than a portrait, so it looks
finished before you have photographs, and so the theme never presents a stock face
alongside invented clinical credentials. To use real portraits, select the monogram in
the editor and replace it with an Image block. Square or 4:5 images work best, and please
give each one alt text naming the person and their role.

= Can I change the colours? =

Yes. Open Appearance → Editor → Styles. You can switch between the four bundled looks or
edit any individual colour. If you change colours yourself, please re-check the contrast
between your text and background — the bundled palettes all meet WCAG AA, but a custom
colour may not.

= Where do I put my logo? =

Appearance → Editor → Styles, or click the logo placeholder in the header. The header and
footer both display the site logo, and it is set to render as a circle by default.

= How do I remove the theme credit in the footer? =

The credit is an ordinary paragraph block in the footer template part. Open
Appearance → Editor → Patterns → Template Parts → Footer and delete it.

= Does the theme work with a static front page? =

Yes. Set a static front page under Settings → Reading and the front-page template will
compose the landing sections. Your posts page will use the Home template.

= Is the theme translation ready? =

Yes. All strings in the pattern files use the clinova text domain, and the theme is
compatible with WordPress.org language packs.

The screenshot is a browser capture of this theme's own front page, rendered with the
images that ship inside this zip and nothing else. It contains no third-party imagery.

How it was made: the bundled images were drawn programmatically by us in Python using
the Pillow imaging library - gradients, geometric shapes and text composited in code.
They are not photographs, not stock images, and were not generated with an AI tool.
They are original work by tanchev.net, dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0 so
there is no ambiguity about redistribution, and equally usable under the theme's GPL.
