Elegant block theme for hair salons, beauty studios, nail bars, barbers, day spas and independent stylists. Booking hero, treatment menu, price list, team, gallery and review patterns.

== Description ==

Blushline is a full site editing block theme for hair salons, beauty studios, nail bars, barber shops, day spas, brow and lash bars, and independent stylists working from a single chair.

The design leans on generous whitespace, large editorial headings and warm neutral colour so that photography of your work carries the page. Nothing is cramped, nothing shouts, and there are no badges or ribbons to unpick before you can ship it.

Everything is built from core blocks and configured through theme.json, so it works with the Site Editor rather than around it. There is no page builder, no bundled framework, no build step and no required plugin.

= What is included =

* Eight core templates plus a "Page (No Title)" custom template for landing pages
* A sticky header with a logo, a responsive navigation block and a booking button, and a four column footer
* Eleven section patterns covering two hero layouts, a treatment grid, an about section, a two column price list, a stylist team, a work gallery, testimonials, questions and answers, a booking banner and a contact section
* Four full page patterns: a salon landing page, an about page, a treatments page and a contact page
* Three style variations in addition to the default: Linen, Petal and Ember
* Four locally bundled typefaces so the theme makes no external requests
* Block styles for soft cards, arch-topped images, eyebrow labels, short hairlines, marker-free lists and divided columns

= Accessibility =

Blushline follows the source design's colour scheme, and two of its pairs sit below the 4.5:1 threshold that the accessibility-ready tag requires: white on the rose gold button (3.79:1) and the rose gold navigation hover on cream (3.56:1). Both clear 3:1, so they pass for large text and user interface components, but the tag is deliberately not claimed. Everything else is in place: a skip link visible on focus, a two pixel focus outline on every interactive element, headings in order with a single H1 per page, descriptive alt text on every image, keyboard operable navigation, no meaning carried by colour alone, and prefers-reduced-motion respected. If you need strict AA, switch the button and link colours to the bundled Deep Rose (6.02:1 on cream) in Appearance > Editor > Styles.

= Getting started =

1. Activate Blushline.
2. Create a page, open the inserter, and add the "Salon landing page" pattern.
3. Set that page as your front page under Settings > Reading, or leave the front page as it is and Blushline will show the same landing composition.
4. Open Appearance > Editor to swap the placeholder photographs, edit the price list and change the style variation.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= How do I edit the home page? =

The home page layout lives in the site template, not in a page, which is how block
themes work. Go to Appearance > Editor > Templates > Front Page and edit any section
there — every heading, image, button and column is a normal block.

The Services, About and Contact pages are ordinary pages: edit them under Pages as
usual. The header and footer are under Appearance > Editor > Patterns > Template Parts,
and colours, fonts and spacing are under Appearance > Editor > Styles. To change the
whole look at once, open Styles and click Browse styles.

= How do I add a contact or booking form? =

Blushline is a theme, so it does not process form submissions. Install a form plugin such as Contact Form 7, WPForms or Ninja Forms and place its block inside the contact pattern where the booking card sits. The same applies to online booking: add your booking provider's plugin or block, then link the header and hero buttons to it.

= How do I change the colours? =

Open Appearance > Editor > Styles. Pick one of the four styles, or open the pencil icon to edit any palette colour. Every pattern reads its colour from the palette, so a change there updates the whole site.

= How do I change the fonts? =

The four bundled families are registered in Appearance > Editor > Styles > Typography. You can reassign them, or add your own with the font library.

= Can I remove the theme credit in the footer? =

Yes. Open Appearance > Editor > Patterns > Template Parts > Footer and delete the paragraph. It is an ordinary paragraph block with no special handling.

= The bundled images are abstract, not photographs. Why? =

The photographs bundled with this theme are demo placeholders only. They are not covered by the theme licence and must be replaced with your own or properly licensed images before you publish. Replace each image from the media library in the usual way and write your own alt text as you go. The decorative background images use an empty alt attribute on purpose; if you swap one for a photograph that carries meaning, give it a real description.

= Which templates are included? =

Index, home, front page, single post, page, archive, search, 404 and a "Page (No Title)" custom template.

The screenshot is a browser capture of this theme's own front page, rendered with the
images that ship inside this zip and nothing else. It contains no third-party imagery.

How it was made: the bundled images were drawn programmatically by us in Python using
the Pillow imaging library - gradients, geometric shapes and text composited in code.
They are not photographs, not stock images, and were not generated with an AI tool.
They are original work by tanchev.net, dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0 so
there is no ambiguity about redistribution, and equally usable under the theme's GPL.
